Richard Goldberg's practice includes both
corporate and transactional
work and commercial and white collar
litigation.
He counsels small to mid-sized companies in
corporate
law and contract issues and negotiations, anti-corruption and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance,
lobbying compliance, and intellectual property matters.
Mr. Goldberg also represents clients in
litigation,
including civil suits, white collar defense, internal investigations, and alleged corruption and fraud.
In both capacities, Mr. Goldberg often negotiates on behalf of his clients with adversaries, potential business partners,
contractors, vendors, and U.S. government agents and prosecutors.
Having worked for many years in the
technology sector,
many of Mr. Goldberg's clients are technology and and engineering companies.
His background in software and information security allows him to provide clients with a unique combination of legal knowledge and technology expertise.
This combination enables Mr. Goldberg to understand each client's business quickly and craft appropriate strategies
to protect their interests—without spending hours simply trying to penetrate the technology issues.
Mr. Goldberg has represented a wide variety of individuals and corporations, including large and small software
companies, small computer security consultancies, federal government appointees and civil service employees,
corporate officers, oil-services companies, and non-profit entities.
He is also a frequent speaker and author
on issues in contracting, privacy, data security, cloud computing, and other new technology areas.
